Strategic Partnership Helps a Florida Auto Group Modernize Operations Across 11 Stores

Florida Auto Group - Proton

A Florida Auto Group partnered with Proton and Reynolds to modernize dealership infrastructure and improve operations across 11 stores.

The Problem

For years, we relied on legacy systems and long-standing vendor relationships to support our dealership operations. While those solutions had worked in the past, over time, we began experiencing growing frustrations with the level of service and support we were receiving. As our dealership group expanded, it became increasingly clear that our infrastructure was no longer keeping pace with the needs of our dealerships.
One of our biggest concerns was our outdated IT environment. Across 11 stores and over 600 devices, we were operating on a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), which meant hundreds of devices were running from centralized remote servers instead of locally. This setup created slow system performance, network vulnerabilities, and ongoing operational inefficiencies that impacted our teams daily.
We knew we needed a modern, scalable solution, but the challenge felt overwhelming. Other providers estimated the transition would take well over a year to complete, and we simply could not afford that kind of disruption to our business. At the same time, we were approaching a critical point in our existing vendor contracts, making the timing even more urgent.
Internally, there was also understandable hesitation around making such a significant change. Replacing existing infrastructure across multiple stores while maintaining day-to-day operations felt like a major risk. We needed a partner that could not only provide the technology but also deliver the level of service, support, communication, and execution required to make the transition successful.

“Proton transformed an outdated IT environment into a modern, scalable infrastructure that better supports our teams.”

Solutions Used

The Solution

When we were introduced to Proton Dealership IT and the Reynolds team, the conversation immediately felt different. Discussions around the project accelerated during the 2025 NADA Show, where teams from Proton and Reynolds aligned on a strategy to help us modernize our operations and infrastructure as quickly as possible.
Instead of focusing on a single product or service, they approached the situation as a true partnership, taking the time to understand our operational challenges and long-term goals.
Despite the aggressive timeline, the Proton team confidently committed to completing the transition in approximately 90 days. Once they arrived on-site and assessed the full scope of the project, it became clear just how massive the undertaking truly was. Even so, the team remained focused and committed from start to finish.
What stood out most throughout the process was the level of care and coordination involved. Each of our 11 dealership locations received individualized attention, ensuring our unique operational needs were addressed. The Proton team worked around our business hours whenever possible to minimize disruption, often completing workstation transitions in the time it took employees to step away for a short break.
To make the transition easier for our staff, the team replicated existing device environments onto new PCs, allowing employees to continue working in a familiar setup without a learning curve. At no point during the migration did we lose operational continuity, which was critical for our dealerships.
Beyond the IT transformation, the Reynolds team demonstrated the value of a fully connected partnership. From product demonstrations and operational consultations to peer recommendations from other dealer groups, every interaction reinforced our confidence that we were making the right decision.
In the end, the partnership resulted in the implementation of Proton, ReverseRisk, and ERA-IGNITE solutions across multiple stores, along with several additional Reynolds solutions designed to support our long-term growth.
Most importantly, we gained more than upgraded technology; we gained a partner that understood and supported our business goals every step of the way.

“The Reynolds team demonstrated that they understood dealership operations — not just the technology behind them.”
