I’m the financial services director at Mercedes-Benz of Bonita Springs. When Mercedes-Benz Financial first let us know they were looking into electronic funding and contracting, I put my hand up for the docuPAD® system. I wanted to be the first Mercedes-Benz dealership to have it. It’s the direction this industry is moving; it’s the future of automotive retail, so we took advantage of it as quickly as we could.

In a paper society, there’s a much greater opportunity for human error and compliance issues. Before we implemented the docuPAD system, we had 15% of deals sent back by the bank for missing signatures, forms, or other mistakes crucial to the funding process.

The Results

With the docuPAD system, all documents are pre-programmed and we don’t miss anything because the docuPAD system does not let us advance until every necessary signature is captured. We want to make sure we’re doing everything to be compliant, and because everything is recorded electronically, we can ensure our compliance.

In addition to compliance improvements, funding is almost immediate. Mercedes-Benz Financial is thrilled about the electronic process. Our customers love it, too!

Aside from everything being electronic, our customers love that the docuPAD system is interactive, colorful, and transparent – they think it’s very cool. The larger text size has been a wonderful improvement, as well. We definitely have certain flexibilities with the docuPAD system that we didn’t have with paper and it makes the whole experience for our customers smoother. We’ve had nothing but positive feedback from them about their interactions with it!

 If there’s one constant in life, it’s change. If you’re not constantly changing, you’re falling behind. For us, the decision to get the docuPAD system was very simple. You don’t take a quarter and go to a local payphone anymore; you use your mobile phone. That’s what the docuPAD system is for dealerships. It’s a huge leap in technology. Dealerships that aren’t using it are absolutely falling behind.
