Some Reynolds associates start their careers as summer interns before joining the company in full-time roles. We recently sat down with an associate who completed two internships over two summers on different teams and joined one of those teams full-time.
Name: Eden H.

Title: Presentation Specialist

Location: Dayton, Ohio

What first brought you to Reynolds?

Growing up in the Dayton area, Reynolds has been a fixture in my community for as long as I can remember. But I really started down my own path here when I recognized the company’s name at a job fair at my university. I went online and applied for an internship that day. As soon as I started and met all the people who make Reynolds so great, I knew I wanted to build my career here.

Can you describe your first internship experience?

I first interned on the Marketing Department’s Video team as a Video Production Intern. I participated in many really cool projects, including creating, producing, shooting, and editing the "Day in the Life of a Summer Intern Experience" video for our Careers website.

I remember helping the team record a video with company leadership, including the current president. Being behind the camera made me so nervous, and after the video was complete, I realized I never hit the “record” button. I was mortified, but I learned to make sure that the red light is always on during shoots.

How did your second internship differ from the first?

I recently completed my second internship at Reynolds with Marketing’s Innovation Center in Dayton, primarily presenting products to customers. This one was more customer-facing, so I had the opportunity to meet a lot of great people. Thankfully, I have always felt comfortable presenting.

I didn't realize how much I had to learn about the company and our products when I started. I initially thought I would be “Vanna White-ing” in front of customers – just a smiling face while showing them what we can do. Instead, I jumped into completing product certifications. It's been a great educational experience.

How did those internships shape your career decisions?

My internships gave me confidence and clarity about where I wanted to end up after graduation. Both teams helped me build new skills each summer, and over time, I noticed that I thrived the most in communication and customer engagement, ultimately leading to the role I’m in today.

So, what’s next for you?

I’m currently finishing my Communications degree at the University of Cincinnati, and I have stepped into a full-time role as a Presentation Specialist in the Innovation Center. I’m balancing both at once, which is challenging but teaching me to be more organized.

I’m excited to keep learning about solutions, giving customers the experience they deserve when they come to the Innovation Center, and being a part of solving everyday problems for dealerships.

Why did you choose to stay at Reynolds?

I decided to stay because of all the amazing people I got to work with. I’ve had great mentors on both teams, felt trusted to take on big projects, and had chances to represent the company. It's awesome to hold those responsibilities as an intern and know that you’re an important part of the team.

Do you have any words of wisdom for future interns?

My biggest advice to interns is to say yes. Reynolds gives interns a unique chance to work on meaningful projects and take advantage of opportunities to learn and grow. So, don’t be afraid to dive in, ask questions, volunteer for tasks, and learn from your co-workers. The more you put into the experience, the more you get out of it.
