7 Things to Bring to an Interview

<section class="wp-block-reyrey-js-section"><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-column"><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph">Interviews can be intimidating, and you need to appear organized and collected despite your nervousness. There are a few things Reynolds and Reynolds recruiters recommend you bring to an interview, like company research, a positive attitude, and answers for situational questions (greatest strength/weakness). There are also a few more items you want to keep in mind:</div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph"><span class="RR-Font-Weight Bold">1. A List of Questions</span></div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph">When going to an interview, <a href="http://life.reyrey.com/2017/07/25/questions-to-ask-your-interviewer/">p… a list of questions</a> and bring them with you. Typically, writing them on a note card or piece of paper is best.</div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph"><span class="RR-Font-Weight Bold">2. A Notepad and Pen/Pencil</span></div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph">Your interviewer will cover many different topics, and you want to keep the knowledge available. Bring in a notebook and a writing utensil to keep information organized. You will also be expressing interest in the position by taking notes on what your interviewer says.</div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph"><span class="RR-Font-Weight Bold">3. Something to Hold Business Cards</span></div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph">As you go about your interview, you may meet multiple people of power within the organization. Bring something that can hold the business cards provided to you. This can be a folder or portfolio.</div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph"><span class="RR-Font-Weight Bold">4. Copies of Your Resume</span></div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph">Your interviewer will likely have questions over your resume, or want to show your resume to others within the company. Don’t make your interviewer search through files or emails, have one on hand!</div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph"><span class="RR-Font-Weight Bold">5. Mints</span></div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph">You never know when bad breath will strike. Buy a to-go pack of mints to bring with you. Gum can work as well, but dispose of it before you meet your interviewer. You don’t want to distract the interviewer with chewing or popping.</div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph"><span class="RR-Font-Weight Bold">6. A Lint Roller</span></div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph">You wouldn’t bring this with you <em>into</em> the interview, but keep it in your car to do a quick clean-up before entering the building.</div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph"><span class="RR-Font-Weight Bold">7. A Bottle of Water</span></div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph">If your throat tends to get dry or scratchy when nervous, ask your recruiter if you can bring along a bottle of water.</div><div class="wp-block-reyrey-js-paragraph">Interviews are all about preparation, confidence, and your qualifications. Practice answering interview questions and rehearse as much as you can before the big day. Take everything as a learning experience, and do your best.
