There are numerous solutions that easily store, print, and scan data:
Document Retrieval (DOC)
Document Retrieval (DOC) is a software application that automatically saves 'text based copies' of any system generated document, such as parts invoices, service repair orders, service invoices, paychecks, and onto a separate disk drive to be recalled later. Using the Document Retrieval software helps you greatly reduce paper storage by enabling you to store documents electronically. You can also access information that is several months old quickly and easily.
The Image-Based Document Retrieval (IDO) and Internet Document Imaging (IDI)
The Image-Based Document Retrieval (IDO) and Internet Document Imaging (IDI) systems both enable you to electronically store exact images of documents, including signatures. Documents can be automatically archived from the print stream, or scanned and stored on a special document image server, so no disk capacity on your application server is needed to store the documents. With Internet Document Imaging, documents are stored on a remote server, which is convenient for dealerships that do not want to keep with the server maintenance, backups, and updates. Documents can be retrieved off the document image server quickly and viewed, printed, or faxed from any PC equipped with POWER Workstation for Windows®.
Service Signature Interface (SSI)
With Service Signature Interface (SSI), your customer's signature is captured electronically and the document is automatically sent to the Image-Based Document Retrieval server where it is available immediately. Because you can easily print forms WITH the customer's signature whenever they are needed, you can keep fewer copies on file. And, since Service Signature Interface documents are automatically stored on the Image-Based Document Retrieval server, paperwork is no longer lost in transit.
