Desking Enhancement Provides Concurrent Deal Access for Multiple Users While Maintaining Process Integrity

Effective immediately, ERA users attempting to access a deal record in Desking will be alerted when a deal is in use by another user in the F&I ODS or Desking application.

How Does the New Enhancement Work?

• Desking User Scenario
  Suppose the F&I Manager accesses a deal to print forms for a customer. Then, the Sales Manager attempts to access the same deal in the Desking application to view sales information. A message window now displays for the Sales Manager, informing him that the deal is in use.
  
  
  
  The Sales Manager can click the OK button to view the deal in display-only mode, or he can click the CANCEL button to cancel the request.
• F&I ODS User Scenario
  If an employee using the F&I ODS application attempts to access a deal in use, a prompt displays at the bottom of the screen, alerting the user that the deal is in use by a specific user at another location. The employee can press return to “retry” or “Q” to quit and cancel the request. The deal cannot be displayed in the F&I ODS application while in use by another employee.
