300 Children of Soldiers Receive New Bikes Assembled by Reynolds Employees and Their Families

Annual Reynolds and Reynolds Bike Build Continues Company Holiday Tradition

DAYTON, Ohio – Dec. 22, 2015 – Reynolds and Reynolds associates and their families joined together at three of Reynolds’ major locations in Ohio and Texas on Saturday, Dec. 12, to assemble 300 new bicycles to give as Christmas gifts to the families of military service members.

  • At the company’s headquarters in Dayton, Ohio, Reynolds employees and their families assembled 102 bikes for military families of four Ohio Army National Guard units.
  • Reynolds employees and their families in Houston, Texas, assembled 100 bikes for children of those serving in the 136th Expeditionary Signal Battalion.
  • Reynolds employees and their families in College Station, Texas, assembled 98 bikes for the 112th Cavalry.

“The Bike Build is a meaningful tradition that brings together Reynolds associates, their families, and our military community,” said Kasi Edwards, vice president of Marketing at Reynolds and Reynolds. “Many of our associates and their families have participated in the event since it began eight years ago. It’s one more way for us to give back to our communities, at the same time that we celebrate volunteerism and make the season a bit more special for military families.”

Since launching the Reynolds Bike Build in 2007, Reynolds families have assembled more than 1,400 bicycles during the Christmas holidays for children of military families.

Each year, Reynolds purchases, assembles, and donates the bikes for the Bike Build. Reynolds associates and their families assemble the bikes – ranging from the smallest sizes with training wheels to 26-inch multi-speed models.

Edwards noted that Reynolds’ facilities in Texas also hosted a bike build event for military families. “Reynolds associates whether here or in Texas, have a strong commitment of reaching out to others. The Bike Build is an example of that spirit and our collective appreciation and ongoing support for those who serve.”
