Nearly 300 Children of Soldiers Receive New Bikes Assembled by Reynolds Employees and Their Families

Annual Reynolds and Reynolds Bike Build Continues Company Holiday Tradition

DAYTON, Ohio – Dec. 16, 2014 – Reynolds and Reynolds associates and their families joined together at three of Reynolds’ major locations in Ohio and Texas on Saturday, Dec. 6, to assemble nearly 300 new bicycles to give as Christmas gifts to the families of military service members.

  • At the company’s headquarters in Dayton, Ohio, Reynolds employees and their families assembled 93 bikes for military families of two Ohio Army National Guard units.
  • In College Station, Texas, Reynolds employees and their families built 100 bicycles for military families at Fort Hood.
  • Reynolds employees and their families in Houston, Texas, worked alongside Coast Guard members to assemble 100 bikes for children of those serving at the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Houston.

“The Bike Build is a great way to brighten the holidays of military families and one more way to pay tribute to their service,” said Ron Lamb, president of Reynolds and Reynolds. “The annual Bike Build is also an opportunity for all of us at Reynolds to give back and to involve our children in the spirit of giving for other children. It’s become one of the highlights of the holiday season for us.”

Since launching the Reynolds Bike Build in 2007, Reynolds families have assembled more than 1,000 bicycles during the Christmas holidays for children of military families.

Each year, Reynolds purchases and donates the bikes for the Bike Build. Reynolds associates and their families assemble the bikes — ranging from tricycles and 12-inch bikes with training wheels to 26-inch multi-speed models.

Lamb concluded, “A common bond that Reynolds associates share is a spirit of giving and reaching out to others. The Bike Build is one more way to strengthen that bond and give back to the families of those who serve.”
