Reynolds Director of Compliance to Speak at FTC Roundtable on Nov. 17
DAYTON, Ohio - Nov. 15, 2011 - The Reynolds and Reynolds Company today announced that Terry O'Loughlin, an industry-recognized expert in automotive dealership F&I compliance, is scheduled to appear at a roundtable discussion sponsored by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 17, 2011. This roundtable event is the third in a series hosted by the FTC addressing possible consumer protection issues that may arise in the sale, lease, or financing of motor vehicles.
O'Loughlin will be participating on an expert panel discussing "Misrepresentations and Other Consumer Protection Issues in Motor Vehicle Leasing." The panel discussion will be moderated by Carole Reynolds of the FTC Division of Financial Practices. Other experts slated to join O'Loughlin on the panel include representatives from the Legal Aid Justice Center, Illinois Attorney General's Office, Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association, and the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association (NIADA).
Four additional panel discussions will be held at this roundtable, all focused on motor vehicle leasing and issues in consumer protection. As Director of Compliance for Reynolds Integrated Document Solutions, O'Loughlin is responsible for monitoring and helping ensure the accuracy of Reynolds' documents used by automobile dealerships, with a major focus in the sales and F&I areas. Prior to joining Reynolds, O'Loughlin was with the Florida Office of the Attorney General, where he was involved in investigating and prosecuting automobile dealers, manufacturers, and finance and leasing companies. He also was the mediator of Florida's Motor Vehicle Lease Disclosure Act, a statute which he assisted in drafting.
