Reynolds Approves ChannelNet and The Commercial
Appeal as Certified Interface Vendors for POWER DMS
DAYTON, OHIO – January 15, 2008 -- The Reynolds and Reynolds
Company, a leading provider of software and services to automotive
retailers, today announced the addition of two Reynolds Certified
Interface (RCI) vendors for the POWER dealership management system
(DMS). ChannelNet and The Commercial Appeal are now approved partners
within the RCI program, joining more than 115 other approved vendors.
With the Reynolds Certified Interface, dealerships can send new
and used car inventory data automatically and efficiently from
POWER to their online vendors of choice, keeping online inventories
up-to-date and accurate.
ChannelNet, a premier builder of multichannel sales solutions
for automobile manufacturers and their franchise dealers, and
The Commercial Appeal, an online car link for consumers in Tennessee,
provide enhanced online shopping experiences that connect consumers
to the appropriate automotive dealer. Through the RCI program,
these two companies are able to keep online inventories up-to-date
efficiently and reliably with a continual flow of dealer data,
which can lead to more sales leads for dealers and a better customer
experience for consumers.
“We recognize the dealer’s need to keep online information
current, which depends on their ability to share information in
a way that is simple and secure,” said Bob Schaefer, director
of Data Services at Reynolds and Reynolds. “The RCI program
is making it possible to provide this kind of accessibility, and
the addition of ChannelNet and The Commercial Appeal as vendors
offers our DMS customers two additional quality choices for their
business needs.”
The RCI program provides a platform for the safe exchange of
data between dealerships using a Reynolds DMS and the third-party
companies with which those dealers do business. Reynolds requires
RCI vendors to complete a thorough certification process, which
helps ensure that the interface with a Reynolds DMS is safe and
consistently reliable. This helps prevent damage to the DMS and
helps keep dealers compliant with data security requirements.
It also enables dealers who do business with RCI approved vendors
to have complete control over the specific information third parties
are permitted to use. Reynolds supports its approved RCI vendors
with technical assistance and system updates.
